This was the era of singer Tina Turner and her famous shocked-up two-tone wig. Other singing groups sported bulky African rounded cuts. Hair was dyed in different cotrasting colors, often with glitters sprinkled all over them.
Glitters were used to accent the eyes and loud mascara was very popular. The louder and the more improbable the eyeshade was, the more “in” it was. Black and Violet were used as lip shades. Green nail polish, luminous nail polish and glittery nail polish adorned long fingernails on hands wearing fingerless gloves.
Planning a party with an 80s fancy dress motif will be great fun for kids and will evoke memories for people who were young then. Either way, that is one great way to organize a celebration. People can have the time of their lives thinking what they will wear. Nothing expensive is involved. All it will need is plenty of imagination and color.
