Increasing Website Conversions Ideas from a DUI Attorney

I am in a service based industry. More specifically, I’m a DUI attorney. The thing about being a DUI attorney is that no one really thinks they need one until they actually need one. That means getting in people’s rolodex’s is hard unless they know you for some other reason. Because of that, there is a big opportunity to get clients from the internet.

Only two things are stopping you from getting clients from the internet – search engine placement and website conversion. I’m not going to talk about search engine placement because so many other people already have. I want to talk about website conversion.

Website conversion is the process of getting someone that finds your website to take that next step in the process. For a DUI attorney, that would be either picking up the phone and calling to schedule an appointment or filling out the contact form so we could call them back. For someone else it might be going to the order form or signing up for the monthly newsletter. Whatever it is, that conversion is typically the hardest thing to master on your website (unless you are selling something that everybody wants).

The first thing you want to make sure you’ve got on your website, preferably on the front page toward the top, is a call to action. A call to action is a command telling the person on your site what the next step is. In my case, the call to action is something like “call today for a free consultation” and my phone number. That call to action is repeated several times throughout the site to take every opportunity to get people to take that next step.

The second thing you want to do to get more conversions is figure out a way to get them to know, like, and trust you. This is the hardest thing to do, particularly for DUI attorney, who don’t have the best reputation. If you can earn their trust and form a bond with them, they’ll be knocking down your door to hire you.

There you have it. Two great ways to increase website conversions. Good luck!
