Chocolate Tahitian Pearls and Other Great Fall Pearl Necklaces

>

The cooler days of fall bring with them exciting changes in the world of fashion and jewelry. This year, we’ll see designers using a plethora of colors from eye-catching metallics to dramatic jewel tones. Popular colors include dark green, olive, deep purple, bright red, camel, silver, and gold. Of course, as fashion changes so does jewelry, and this year is no exception.

Though classic white pearl necklaces are beautiful and go with anything, now is the time to try something a little different. Good fall pearl necklaces this year include exotic Tahitian pearls in peacock, chocolate, or aubergine in unique styles. Tahitian pearls are available in several unique colors. What makes them so distinctive are their (generally) dark body colors and shimmering metallic overtones. Though most known for their black pearls (the only true black on the market), Tahitian pearls also come in popular colors such as peacock and aubergine.

Peacock is basically a gray or black body with shimmering green, blue, and even purple overtones. Aubergine is gray with purple or eggplant overtones. Both types will work extremely well with this year’s fashionable colors. Other popular colors include champagne, black, pistachio, and the ever-popular chocolate Tahitian pearls.
True chocolate pearls are never dyed. Pearl aficionados feel that Tahitian pearls are a high-integrity product, rather than a mass-produced one, and therefore do not advocate dyeing these pearls. However, true chocolate pearls are hard to find and very expensive. A better alternative might be dyed freshwater pearls, which are cheaper and more easily treated or dyed. No matter which you choose, brown is an underrated color that flatters more women than you might think. Even if you hate brown, take a moment to think about buying some brown pearls for fall.
While you are experimenting with color, why not change the design of your necklace as well? This fall, chunky, eye-catching designs are taking center stage. An exotic color might be enough to get attention all on its own, but if you want the maximum effect, try a more unique design. The best fall pearl necklace will have long, dramatic lengths, large pearls, or unconventional designs. Those of you who own pearl ropes – now is the time to bring them out.

You can try looping a long pearl necklace twice around your nice or knotting it for a more retro style. Also popular are designs that combine chain links and precious gems. You might also try other pearl shapes such as coin, baroque, drop, or keshi pearls. Above all, the best fall pearl necklace is one that makes a statement while highlighting your own unique style. Combine it with a matching pearl ring and you’ll really be set.
