CNA training or Certified Nursing Assistant training is very important for someone who wants to get started with a career in caring for different kinds of patients as a nursing assistant. This may not be the most elegant job today but this will allow you to get into the front line to care for patients. CNA training comes in two types depending on where it’s going to be done. These types include CNA training in campuses and CNA training online.
Nursing assistants are also referred to as nursing aides, patient care technicians, home health aides, and orderlies. This basically means that they work under the authority or leadership of a registered nurse and doctor or director of care. The major responsibilities of a nursing assistant involve helping patients with their ADLs or activities of daily living. This job encompasses different basic services such as grooming, feeding patients, giving baths, providing help in using medical equipment, and checking vital signs.
A nursing assistant is considered as the member of the health-care team who is closest to the patients. This would be so since it is his job to accompany patients for the entire duration of his shift. This means that it is the job of a nursing aide to provide patients with emotional and social support. Aside from providing patient care, the nursing assistant is also responsible for giving nurses updates of the current conditions of patients inside their ward along with some vital information that may need some immediate attention.
If you decide to work as a CNA, you’re going to handle different patients with different diseases such as altimers disease of Alzheimer’s disease. In addition to this, you’re going to have to work hand in hand with doctors and nurses inside a hospital. You may be assigned to a ward, the emergency room, or in special areas. Aside from these departments, you can also choose to work inside mental health institutions where you will handle patients with psychological problems or in nursing homes where you will be providing care to the elderly.
