A Cheap Wedding Photograhper Won’t Tell You These Things
>
On your wedding day you will probably be photographed more times than you have in your entire life. I know that for many people, whether you would admit it or not, this is a daunting thought. Here are a few tips and tricks for those of you who think being photographed is like going to the dentist.
- Relax! Having your photo taken, unlike the dentist, cannot cause you physical pain. It’s okay to be nervous or happy – although sad in not generally a good emotion on your wedding day – but whatever you are feeling, don’t fake it, just relax.
- If looking at the camera is a problem, then look past the camera. Focus on something in the distance. I think if a photographer is constantly asking you to look at the camera, it is they who have missed the point of the shot.
- If you hate smiling in photos, don’t. You can show your emotions through your eyes. The real trick is to just be happy.
- Breathe through your mouth. It gives you a slight smile without your cheeks rising.
- Don’t be afraid of being posed. Great wedding photographers will know certain way for you to stand that look good photographically, or they may just be trying to put you in the right light to capture the best image. Resisting instructions does not help anyone. Posing is not about faking,
rather it is about helping you look your best. - Never stand straight-on to a camera. Place on foot in front of the other and lean slightly forward then slightly raise your chin. This has a wonderful slimming effect. Remember, photographs are two dimensional so a slight change of angle can have a huge effect.
- Finally, please trust the professional standing in front of you. If you have done your research and not booked a cheap wedding photographer but someone you know can produce great images, then all you have to do is enjoy the day, and the ore you enjoy it, the easier their job is and the better the results will be. I have never met a professional photographer who did not want to capture the most outstanding photos for their clients.
